On Wednesday, June 6th, Cabrini Mission Corps missioners Gina Allen, Roxanne De La Torre, Colleen Dille, Katherine Frazier, and Kim Uy reunited at Cabrini College in Radnor PA. These missioners have ministered at Mother Cabrini High School (NYC), Cabrini College (Radnor, PA), Cabrini Immigrant Services (NYC), Cabrini Retreat Center (Des Plaines, IL), and the Interfaith Coalition for Immigrants and Detainees (Chicago, IL) since August 2011. They will stay at the College and take part in activities, reflections, story sharing, and parish mission talks in PA before traveling up to New York on June 10th. The debriefing experience is very important for missioners [in order] to process their year of service, and therefore, this time includes many different ways of story-sharing.
In New York, they will stay with the Sacred Heart Community for the Recommissioning Mass on June 11th and will attend the Cabrini Mission Foundation Spirit of Cabrini Awards Dinner on June 13th, where the Mission Corps will be honored with the Sr. Josephine Tsuei Award for those in the Cabrinian Community, like Sr. Josephine, who demonstrate undaunted faith and hope.
During their first day at the College, the missioners had the opportunity to open with prayer at Emmaus House and share a meal and parts of their stories with some of the members of the CMC Advisory Board.
&quo;I look forward to this board meeting every year,&quo; said Paul Johnson, Executive Chair of the board.
After the Debriefing Retreat, all but Roxanne will return to their respective ministries to finish their time and say their goodbyes for now. Roxanne will fly to South Africa on Friday. Please keep these missioners in prayer this week, along with CMC missioner Crystal Catalan who is completing her two year mission in the Philippines, as they all process this past year of service. Thank you to all in the Cabrini community who have supported them this year!
