Discerning God's Call
Drawn by the Heart of Jesus

Drawn by the Heart of Jesus
It is a mystery why Jesus asks a woman to dedicate her life and energy to mission within the Church. Often it starts with a simple nudging or even a quiet “a-ha” experience through which you become aware that God is calling you to something “more.” This leads you on a path of discovery; a journey of seeking God in ways you may not have before considered.

Sometimes, these inklings make themselves known through personal contact with a group of vowed religious women. The life, the attitude and the mission of a particular congregation resonate within you calling you to delve deeper; to explore; to prayerfully consider where God is leading you.

As Missionary Sisters, we are ordinary women seeking to respond to God’s invitation in our lives. We would be pleased to assist you to discern God’s call in your life.

Discernment
By your baptismal call, God has asked you to share your gifts, capacities, energy and passion through your life’s vocation. If you feel that God is inviting you to live your vocation as a religious sister, you may be wondering how to best clarify that invitation. Such decision making is done through a process called discernment.

Discernment is a period of time when you prayerfully consider what God’s plan in life is for you. Through prayer, active listening, quiet reflection, journaling and conversation with trusted individuals in your life, by God’s grace, you will eventually be led to an interior conviction that this (is) may be the life you are to live.

Becoming an MSC
As vowed religious women, we MSCs have responded to God’s call in our lives. In rhythms of dialog, silence, prayer, faith-sharing, work and leisure, we live co-responsibly in community as adult women committed to serving those in need, particularly women, children, immigrants and the frail elderly.

As a missionary congregation, we are available to be sent anywhere in the world in the service of the Church and to those who are most vulnerable. We are called to be open and hospitable, welcoming and simple. Our communities are characterized by internationality and an agile response to the needs presented by today’s cultures and realities.

We as Church are called to pray for vocations.

Please join us each month in prayer.

As Missionary Sisters we believe that prayer in concert with the counsel of valued mentors helps young adults to be attentive to the special call from God regarding your life's vocation If you are seeking further insight into life and wondering what God has to say about it, we suggest that you visit Catholics on Call for further information, events and retreats.
