Sr. Ambrogina Morselli, MSC
With a myriad of responsibilities in her purview, Sister Ambrogina Morselli happily enumerates all that she does in the course of a week in her ministry at St. Mary’s, an independent living residence for thirty-three low income women, age 60 and over, that is run by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

“I prepare the church for mass and for Holy Hour. I help to beautify the church with flowers. It is my joy to prepare for the Holy Hour. The women here love it. They can be of any faith – I invite them all!” exclaims Sr. Gina.

She also assists with the preparation of meals at St. Mary’s – breakfast, lunch and dinner – and with the clean up, as well. Often, she will have sole responsibility for preparing a meal – no small task for so many people.

Once a month, Sr. Gina orchestrates an arts and crafts class for the ladies. “I like to do it,” says Sr. Gina with verve. “I go to craft stores and find simple projects. I never look at books for ideas; I make the craft projects up in my head. I do lots of crocheting myself, but for the women here I like to keep it simple.”

Along with her day time tasks, Sr. Gina has night duty twice a week and one weekend a month. Additionally, “I have to take care of the grounds, to make sure they are tidy.” No two weeks at St. Mary’s are ever the same, making Sr. Gina a self-described “jack of all trades.” Sr. Gina has enjoyed her four years of ministry at St. Mary’s and is grateful to the Precious Blood Sisters who invited her to work with them.
