Now, for almost four years, Cabrini Mission Foundation has been the focus of my ministry endeavors. It is amazing how previous mission experiences continue to serve me so well in this current role. Friends and donors to our Cabrini missions each have their own stories to share in addition to giving their generous contributions. It is always a privilege to receive their family news, pray for their intentions and thank them for their on going support.

What is a day at the Foundation like? The tasks vary: making conference calls, contacting mission personnel, writing articles for our web site and newsletters, meeting with Board members, preparing reports for committees, grant making, joining in staff meetings, and keeping appointments with prospective donors…to name a few.

Occasionally I am asked to give presentations to groups connected with our various missions here in the USA and abroad. How could I not enjoy such opportunities to underscore the life and passion of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, our outreach needs near and far, and the dedicated presence of our MSCs and lay collaborators all over the world?

Meeting with new individuals and organizations who can help our Foundation efforts can be challenging. There are so many worthwhile causes vying for attention and assistance. At the same time it is rewarding to experience their interest and enthusiasm for our vast works. So often they are amazed at how much we do with such limited resources!

Life is an adventure, full of surprises. I am sure there are yet many more in store as my MSC journey continues in response to God’s call.
