Each week during the Lenten Season we will be bringing you reflections written by the Missionary Sisters so that we may journey together in prayer.|

Reflection for the First Sunday in Lent – February 17, 2013
Since early December I have had the gifted experience of living and ministering in Ethiopia. Throughout this time, whether in the classes with our MSC Novices, with the little ones at the Center of Life, visiting the local community hospital and the pre-school classes, or sharing life with the members of our Central Community, there has been a constant core message: God's grace is always present IN us. The more we shared with one another, the more I came to appreciate how God provides for us, and in abundance!
&quo;The word is near you,
IN your mouth and IN your heart...&quo; (Romans 10:8)
Paul reminds the Roman community that the word is IN them; it is a force that underscores their lives. He rallies them to proclaim their belief and act on it.
Moses reminded the people of all that the Lord had done for them, and calls them to bow down IN His presence (Deuteronomy 26:10)
Jesus goes IN to the desert, where he is confronted with temptations as he prepares for his public ministry. The word of God is alive and active within him. (Luke 4:1-13)
This season of Lent invites us to enter IN...to create a space, spend time with the Lord, quiet ourselves, and rediscover the many ways God comes to us. We journey through this Year of Faith together, knowing that &quo;the same Lord is Lord of all, enriching all who call upon him.&quo;
