Mother Cabrini High School
New York, United States
Founded in 1899 by St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, Mother Cabrini High School is an independent college preparatory Catholic school for young women in grades nine through twelve. The mission of Mother Cabrini High School is to provide an unparalleled education of the mind, character, heart and soul in a spiritual atmosphere that promotes a love of God, the pursuit of academic excellence and recognition of the dignity of each individual. Mother Cabrini High School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and is the first Catholic high school in New York State to twice receive the U.S Department of Education’s “Blue Ribbon School of Excellence” award in 1986-1987 and in 1997-1998.
Mother Cabrini High School serves approximately 400 young women from the five boroughs of New York. Predominantly of Hispanic and African-American descent, seventy-eight percent of the student population comes from families facing economic hardships. One hundred percent of graduates earn acceptance into more than one college or university, with many receiving academic scholarships and grants.
