St. Cabrini Residence, established in 1969, is a home for retired and elderly sisters and is located in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia. From its inception, it served primarily as a private nursing and retirement home for the frail and elderly sisters. In 1998, the sisters requiring more intensive and skilled care were relocated to St. Cabrini Nursing Home in Dobbs Ferry, NY, and St. Cabrini Residence became an assisted living facility for sisters who can no longer be totally independent. The philosophy of the Residence is to provide service that is flexible, individualized and that maximizes the Sisters’ independence, privacy and dignity.

Today, you will find thirty-one senior sisters whose primary ministry is the powerhouse of prayer and support for the works of the Stella Maris Province and the Institute throughout the world.

Let us encourage our sisters to be open to the Lord’s special call in sickness, inactivity and old age, so that they may continue to live their consecration for mission with love and generosity. (Const. 36)
