Cabrini Immigrant Services (Henry Street)

Cabrini Immigration Services, an outreach program of Cabrini Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, opened its doors on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in September of 1999. It serves a diverse population, working primarily with Chinese and Hispanic immigrants. Cabrini Immigrant Services offers legal counseling for immigration benefits; classes in the English language; a food pantry distribution; assistance with public benefits and housing issues; healthcare referrals and assistance with the family legal system. Cabrini also has an Immigrant Womens Initiative to assist women in knowing their rights; Domestic Violence Prevention and family stability support. Advocacy and lobbying are a major part of their efforts to change existing inequitable structures and laws.
