Today the theme of the 14th General Chapter, which motivated us in our preparations, remains a powerful force in our hearts and minds: “Be not afraid! I have chosen you to go forth and bear fruit that will remain.” We want to share this graced experience with the whole Cabrini Community. As we looked at our diverse missionary realities, each with its particular strengths and weaknesses, we were struck by the abundant new sprouts of life that we discovered. In fact, in this Chapter, vibrant signs of vitality and hope emerged from every corner of the Institute. We witnessed the developments which have taken place in our communities and ministries during the last six years. Seeing the various projects and new missionary endeavors made it possible for us to dream a New Missionary Vision. It unfolded in a climate of discernment, communal respect and prayer through which the Holy Spirit and Mother Cabrini continually strengthened our faith, our trust in the present and our hope for the future.We leave Codogno, the foundation site of the Institute, where the original missionary vision was born some 128 years ago. We return to our respective countries determined to commit ourselves and our ministries to bear the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to others. In closing, we cannot thank you enough for accompanying us during this sacred time through your prayer, communications and messages. May Mary, Mother of Grace, the first missionary of the “Good News” motivate, enlighten and sustain us so that we are able to meet the challenges of the next six years.
